ABOUT THE KK DESIGN

How a Moment Grew into a Movement

The KK design began in a dance class.

On her birthday, choreographer Kayla Janssen walked into class to find students wearing a black t-shirt they had secretly created for her. Printed on the front was a logo built from her initials and a phrase she often shares at the start of class:

“Remember Why You Showed Up”

What began as a surprise quickly took on deeper meaning.

A year later, the design was reprinted to raise funds for Kayla’s assistant after a serious car accident. Students and supporters wore the shirts again, this time as a symbol of unity and care. The KK t-shirts became a reflection of community.

Today, the OG Collection – KK Collection represents the dancers who have trained with Kayla over the years. Dedicated to the artists who showed up to grow, to move and challenge themselves.

For those who wear it, it’s a reminder that showing up matters and that the drive to move, create, and express isn’t accidental.

Just remember to “BREATHE.”
